Rangoon 1st Day Box Office Collection Update: 2017 has been a good year for Bollywood as in three movies have made it to the 100 crore club of Bollywood in two months. The arrival of big movies continues as Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon starring Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut has been released today. Rangoon 1st Day Box Office Collection Update: Occupancy Report
Morning shows occupancy report
Released on 220 screens, Rangoon had a poor start in the morning shows. The movie opened to 15% occupancy in the morning shows which is a disastrous opening considering the star cast and budget of the movie. In mass centres like Central India, UP and Gujarat, the start is disastrous with occupancy less than 5%. In metros like Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi, the opening was on the better side (15-20%).
Noon shows occupancy report
Rangoon witnessed small growth in the noon shows. The overall occupancy was around 20%. Mass centres have picked but the growth is not big. Rangoon will depend on the performance in multiplxes.
Even Shahid Kapoor’s Haider which clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang had a better opening than Rangoon. At some centres, even two week’s old Jolly LLB 2 is having higher occupancy than Rangoon. Though the movie has received good reviews, it seems difficult for it to grow because the buzz is not there. Moreover, like other Vishal Bharadwaj’s films, this one is also a complex film, not meant for an easy going audience.

Rangoon 1st Day Box Office Collection Update: Early Estimates
As per the early trends, Rangoon 1st day collection will be in the range of 4-5 crores. The movie needs a huge turnaround in the evening shows to post a big total which looks like an uphill task.
