Dilwale 17th Day Collection: Dilwale had a low but stable 3rd weekend at the domestic Box Office, collected 3.3 crores on its 3rd Sunday.

Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale remained stable throughout its third weekend at the domestic Box Office. The movie witnessed a meager growth on 3rd Friday and collected 3.3 crores. After a decent 15th day, the movie remained stable and collected 2.35 crores and 3.3 crores on its 16th and 17th day respectively.

The movie is consistently collecting in the range of 2.5 crores to 3.5 crores for the last seven days. At the end of 17 days, Dilwale has a total collection of 146.53 crores. Considering the current trend, we can expect the movie to beat Tanu Weds Manu Returns lifetime collection of 152 crores. The movie is likely to end its Box Office journey as the 4th highest grosser of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 crores), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (208 crores) and Bajirao Mastani (160.70 crores).

SRK was the only saving grace for Dilwale
SRK was the only saving grace for Dilwale

Considering the current trend, we expect Dilwale to remain low and stable on box office in upcoming days. The movie should end up with the lifetime collection of around 153 crores.

Dilwale has been quite consistent but the problem is that the movie wasn’t able to take advantage of Christmas and New Year Holidays. The movie was affected by bans and protests in different parts of the country during the early days of its releases. These bans and protests have affected the movie’s collection by at least 15 crores. Moreover, the clash with Bajirao Mastani has also severely affected the movie. If released without clash and protests, Dilwale would have easily crossed 200 crores on Domestic Box Office.

Dilwale may have underperformed at the domestic Box Office but the movie is performing exceptionally well in overseas. Dilwale has already grossed 300 crores at worldwide Box Office. The movie is one of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters in overseas. Dilwale is all set to beat My Name Is Khan to become SRK’s highest grosser in overseas.

Despite its average performance, Dilwale is in the safe zone because of Red Chillies’ marketing and distribution plan. The movie has already recovered its budget of 130 crores through satellite and music rights. As the movie has recovered its budget, it will be a profitable venture for its producers but the distributors have to incur losses.

Final Verdict: Semi Hit in Domestic, ATBB in overseas. We will shortly update the final profit/loss analysis and Box Office verdict of Dilwale. So, stay tuned to Blog to Bollywood.
