The hit supernatural drama, which originally aired on The CW from 2009 to 2017, is no longer on Netflix.

TVD was added to Netflix in 2011, as part of a deal between Netflix and The CW.

As per the deal, the full seasons of CW series made available on Netflix eight days after their season finales on The CW.

This deal also specify that Netflix would be the exclusive streamer of the series for five years after the series finale.

In 2019, The CW’s parent companies WarnerMedia and ViacomCBS decided not to renew the deal.

Now that The Vampire Diaries has completed five years on Netflix, it left the streaming service as deal hasn't been renewed.

Well, there is no reason to worry, The Vampire Diaries is now streaming on both HBO Max and Peacock.

The Vampire Diaries was a huge success and gives rise to two spinoffs: The Originals and Legacies.

The Originals focused on a family of vampires aired on The CW from 2013 to 2018.

The second spin-off Legacies aired on The CW from 2018 to 2022.

TVD spinoffs The Originals and Legacies  are still available on Netflix

They’ll eventually leave Netflix and move to HBO Max in 2023 and 2027, respectively.

With Legacies Season 5 Cancelled, The Vampire Diaries Franchise’s 13-Year Run on The CW Comes To An End.
