Yellowstone Season 5 Theory: Beth to Take Over Ranch as John Dutton Becomes Governer?

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Plot: Will It Be The End Of Duttons?

The fans are super excited for Yellowstone Season 5 and are discussing the potential storylines the show may follow in the coming season.

Since its debut on Paramount Network, Yellowstone has emerged as a huge hit. Over the years, the ranch drama has attained cult status and is now one of the most popular TV shows in the USA. Season 5 of Yellowstone is set to premiere on Paramount Network on Nov 13 and fans are super excited. Fans are eager to find out what is in store for John Dutton and his family. Filming for the fifth season is underway and fans have already started discussing various plotlines on social media platforms.

At the start of the fourth season, John narrowly escaped death after being attacked. Now, he is more determined to protect his family and loved ones. While the show has sprung a lot of surprises in the previous season, the fans seem convinced about one particular plot point in the upcoming episodes.

John to become governor

Fans believe John may become governor while his daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) takes ownership of their beloved ranch. The fourth season four ended with Beth finally tying the knot with her longtime love, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser).

A fan also took to Reddit to share some BTS photos of stars Costner and Reilly. The images, shared by Reddit user Jalynt13, show John and Beth dressed formally. The pics clearly suggest that John Dutton has won and is swearing-in as a new governor.

Sniktal commented: “I don’t love this governor idea, but maybe Rip and Beth will run the ranch, as they should. And maybe the governor can get Rip a proper identity.”

Some fans are wondering how John will manage his time switching between two jobs. BuilderTexas said: “If John is governor, who runs the Dutton Ranch? Beth and Rip? I like that.”

While the fans think that Beth will finally settle down with Rip, the actress suggested that her days as a married woman will not be lived out in peace.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, the actress opened up about what her character would be like in the next season.

“Just when I think Beth might be trying to mellow down a little bit—she’s a married woman—that’s not happening,” she told the magazine. “I mean, the married woman part’s happening but the calming down. So, it’s just, the fierceness is legitimately ramping up.”

Reilly also shed some light on her character’s views on marriage.

“In a strange way, I think Beth is quite old-fashioned in her values,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I think the fact that this man is now her husband, it holds a lot of power. But he’s always been her guy since she was 16 years old. He’s the only man—other than her father—that she’s ever loved. So, the fact that it’s official in God’s eyes, it’s something I think she’s incredibly proud of and it probably gives her a little more stability.”

Beth could be facing other challenges in season five as she continues her rivalry with Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver).

In the fourth season, Caroline fired Beth for company malpractices. So, Dutton’s daughter will look to seek revenge and take down Caroline.

Yellowstone Season 4 is now available to stream on the streaming service Peacock. Season 5 debuts on Paramount Network on Nov 13.
