Nine volumes of the Light Novel Series have been published so far. The latest volume was released on April 9, 2021.

2) Blu-ray Sales

The first volume of the Bluray series that got released on November 10, 2019, sold around 2,500 copies. Blueray sale of around 2k to 5k is a pretty good number nowadays as digital streaming has become common these days.

It’s 2020 and very few people prefer buying Blu-ray disks from the market rather than streaming easily from their home. Thus, it is good that the series sold around 2K Blu-ray copies.

3) Streaming Revenue

The international streaming rights are with Crunchyroll and Funimation. The first season also streamed on various other streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime. It is expected that it made a decent profit through streaming.

We can conclude from the Sales and Profit Information that the profit made by anime and light novel series is less yet enough for the anime to get another season. It’s good that the anime didn’t bear any loss, otherwise, the chances of another season would have been diminished.

Do we have a release date for Season 2?

Studio Silver Link has announced many anime series for 2021. Animes such as ‘My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!’, ‘X and The Dungeon of Black Company’ will hit the screens in 2021. The studio hasn’t confirmed the official release date for the second season yet.

Considering that an Anime season usually takes one year to produce, we are expecting The Misfit of Demon King Season 2 to release in Early 2022.
