  • Netflix has announced the premiere date for the third season.

Who Killed Sara? natively known as ¿Quién mató a Sara? (Spanish) is a Latin crime mystery thriller series, which debuted on Netflix on March 24, 2021. In no time, it became the streamer’s most popular non-English title ever. Netflix surprised the fans when it dropped the second season just a few months later on May 19, 2021.

Created by José Ignacio Valenzuela, the mystery thriller series revolves around Alex Guzman, who returns after 18 years of imprisonment for a crime he didn’t commit. With 18 episodes already done and dusted, the fans have no clue about who actually killed Sara. The mystery thriller has kept us on the edge of our seats with revelations that point to the fact that everyone could’ve murdered Sara — or that no one did.

After binge-watching the second season of the series, fans are curious to know what lies ahead in the show. Season 3 was inevitable as the second season concluded with many cliffhangers. Well, fans would be happy to know that Who Killed Sara? Season 3 will be on Netflix sooner than you expected. It will be the final season of the series.

Who Killed Sara Season 3 Release Date Announced

Netflix surprised everyone when it dropped the second season a couple of months after the first one. There was a small gap between the release of Season 1 and 2, both were shot continuously under COVID-19 protocols.

You would be happy to know that Netflix has revealed the release date for the next chapter. Who Killed Sara? Season 3 premieres on Netflix on May 20, 2022.

What to expect from Season 3 of the series?

Since the second season release, there have been bunches of assumptions that fans have imagined. Here we’ll discuss some of the theories that are significant and more likely to happen in Season 3.

Indeed, Alex and Elisa would start a family together as we saw them in an enduring relationship. Marifer, on the other side, died after a debris fall, though the season didn’t confirm her death. In that case, there’s a possibility that she might return.

Rodolfo and Chema are intended to die in the third season. Moreover, we’ll be seeing Nicandro uncovering his strategies. Cesar, probably the show’s main antagonist, will undoubtedly return to Mexico and be dragged back to Sara’s mystery. The last theory might terrify you. Sara might have taken help from Cesar or Dr Atlantis to fake her death. Yes, it’s a huge possibility that she is alive. Perhaps, it was Sara all along who played everyone.

Here’s the Netflix synopsis:

“Alex discovers that his sister’s body isn’t where it’s supposed to be. New clues lead him to an unknown entity called Medusa. Who is Medusa and what is her involvement in all this? Will Alex finally discover who is behind Sara’s disappearance?”

What will be the cast of Season 3?

Given the dangling plot, you can expect the cast from previous seasons to return for Season 3. The lead character Álex Guzmán will return as Sara’s brother. The show is twisted in such a way that everyone looks like a suspect from Sara’s boyfriend (Rodolfo Lazcano) to his brother. Below are all the cast and characters expected to be in the third season.

  • Manolo Cardona as Álex Guzmán
  • Alejandro Nones as Rodolfo Lazcano
  • Ximena Lamadrid as Sara Guzmán
  • Carolina Miranda as Elisa Lazcano
  • Eugenio Siller as José María “Chema” Lazcano
  • Fátima Molinisas as Clara
