The "Friends" actor Matthew Perry, popularly known as Chandler, was discovered dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54.

Although no cause of death was given, law enforcement sources told the Times that there was no evidence of foul play.

Many people assumed it was an accident drowning, while others suspected it was a mystery death due to Perry's recent Instagram posts.

In the week leading up to his death, Perry posted to Instagram seven times, referencing Batman in every post which worried fans as in his book, he stated that whenever he is in danger, he will show Batman symbols, leading fans to believe it was a mystery death

However, according to the toxicology report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, Matthew Perry's death was an accident brought on by "the acute effects of ketamine."

Strong anesthetic ketamine is used as a substitute treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other difficult-to-treat mental health issues.

Perry had been "on ketamine infusion therapy" for about a week and a half before he died, according to the autopsy report.  The ketamine in his system when he died could not have been from the infusion therapy, according to the report, since the drug's half-life is three to four hours or less.
