In 2021, Director Chris Columbus expressed interest in making a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child film a few days ago, and the announcement of a Harry Potter TV reboot does not seem all that unlikely.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play written by Jack Thorne from an original story written by J. K. Rowling, Thorne and John Tiffany. The story takes place nineteen years after the events of Rowling's 2007 novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Despite the lack of official confirmation, rumors on social media have been circulating that Harry Potter 9 will be released in theaters in 2025, adapting the stage play The Cursed Child after the success of the franchise's last film.
According to recent rumors, at least one actor from the first Harry Potter movie series may be willing to return for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Again, though, this has not yet been confirmed.
When The New York Times asked Daniel Radcliffe if he would be willing to reprise his role as Harry Potter, he stated that he was not interested at the time, but would not rule out returning in the future.
According to the plot of the original Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Albus Severus Potter, Harry Potter's son, is now Head of the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Law Enforcement. When Albus arrives at Hogwarts, he is sorted into Slytherin and fails to live up to his father's legacy, which makes him resentful of him.
Hence, if rumors about Harry Potter are accurate, then fans will undoubtedly receive an update by 2025 and soon see their eagerly awaited big-screen version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
