One of the biggest hits of 2019, Vinland Saga is returning for its second season. The makers confirm the second season to be in production. The announcement came on the second anniversary of ‘Vinland Saga’ on July 7, 2021. Wit Studios also shared the teaser trailer that shows off a few shorts from the upcoming season.

Vinland Saga’s first season follows Thorfinn, an Icelandic boy who joins the company of the Viking and military commander Askeladd after the latter kills his father. In pursue to seek revenge, he ended up developing an uneasy, intense father/son relationship with Askeladd.
In the upcoming season, Thorfinn will continue to look out for revenge, in addition, to giving a new dimension to his life. Vinland Saga Season 2 is one of the most awaited anime seasons and the fans are super excited about it. On Myanimelist, it has an incredible score of 8.72 from 450k+ votes.
The first season comprised of 24 episodes aired in Japan from July 7, 2019, to Dec 29, 2019. Wit Studio has returned to animate the second season along with the show’s director Shūhei Yabuta and character designer Takahiko Abiru.
The first season aired in Japan on NHK General TV. In international territories, it is only available on Amazon Prime Video.
