With COVID fear finally subsiding, the next few months will be very crucial for the industry. Several biggies are scheduled to release in the coming three months. In fact, the coming weekend is a crucial one as it marks the arrival of three big movies after the third wave of the pandemic. The industry would be hoping for a start of revival with these three big releases of the weekend. Let’s have a look.
Valimai (Feb 24)
The first big release of the week is Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar’s action-thriller Valimai. Being one of the hotly anticipated releases of the year, Ajith Kumar starrer has created a tremendous pre-release buzz. The movie has already collected around Rs 23 crore through advance booking for the first day in Tamil Nadu. Directed by H Vinodh, Valimai is set for a bumper opening at the box office.
The high octane action thriller revolves around IPS Arjun (Ajith) who is assigned a task to track down a group of outlaw bikers following their involvement in egregious crimes. The movie also stars Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda, Bani J and Yogi Babu. It is released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Bheemla Nayak (Feb 25)
Bheemla Nayak is one of the most awaited Telugu movies of 2022. The fans are super excited to watch it on the big screen. Starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati in lead roles, Bheemla Nayak is a remake of the 2020 Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
The Telugu action drama directed by Saagar K Chandra is set to take a huge opening at the box office. It will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
Gangubai Kathiawadi (Feb 25)
Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi will hit the big screens on Feb 25. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it is a biographical drama and portrays the life of young Gangubai who begins her life as a sex worker and in no time marks her own territory and becomes Gangubai – a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura.
The trailer and songs have garnered good reactions. The makers would be hoping for the movie to work at the box office.
