Rumors of Udta Punjab being banned by the Censor Board has been going rife but Udta Punjab not banned just yet.
As we told you a few days ago that Udta Punjab is facing quite a bit of trouble with the Censor Board and that the release date of movie may even get postponed. There even some false report claiming that the movie has been banned completely but as it turns out, Udta Punjab not banned just yet!
Coveted filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who is also one of the co-producers of Udta Punjab took to Twitter to clear the air about the ban rumor. Here’s what he said-
A film is banned only when examining, revising and FCAT all three refuse certificate . And then you fight it out in Supreme Court

And due process takes it own time so please abstain for spreading a BAN rumour. There is nothing to speak on the subject as of now.

For the record ,"Udta Punjab" is not banned. The examining committe has deferred the decision to Revising and due process is on.

The CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd Aman Gill also went on record to say “To set the record straight, ‘Udta Punjab‘ has not been banned. The examining committee has referred the decision to the Revising committee and the due process is on.”
So there you go! There’s still hope for Udta Punjab! According to a report of a leading daily, the Censor Board has demanded 40 cuts in Udta Punjab. The censor board is not happy with the excessive use of explicit language and some bold scenes because of which they have asked the makers to tone down the content for an Adult Certificate. The makers of the movie have approached the Tribunal to revise the rating and are hopeful to seek relief.
Let’s hope for the best! For now, enjoy the trailer of Udta Punjab!
