Karan Johar’s much-awaited chat show Koffee With Karan is set to return to television screens with its fifth season from November 6 onwards. While speculations are rife regarding the first guest of the season, the latest buzz is that Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle Khanna will appear together in one of the later episodes.
For the past several seasons, Twinkle, who is known to be straightforward and upfront, had declined the offer to appear on the show despite Karan’s repeated requests saying that she would talk rubbish and that might get her in trouble later. However, this time, the actress-turned-author has finally agreed to be a part of the show and will be accompanied by her husband Akshay.
In fact, Akshay too debuted on Koffee With Karan only in the last season and had mentioned that he would prefer his wife Twinkle accompanying him on the couch. Although Twinkle has never been grilled by the filmmaker, last year during the launch of her first book Mrs Funny Bones, the gorgeous lady was quizzed by Karan in front of a live audience. “This will be the first time the actress-turned-author will make an exception. Karan and Twinkle are childhood friends and still remain close. When she launched her book Mrs Funnybones, he was there to support her. For that matter, Akshay who kept refusing to go on Karan’s show finally went last season and that was only because Twinkle persuaded him. This time, the filmmaker has managed to convince both to come together on the show,” a source told the daily.
Koffee with Karan 5 will be telecast on Star World and Star World HD channel at 9 pm on Sundays starting from November 6.
