So 2016 has almost come to an end. Rewinding it, we see there has been an experiment of sorts when it comes to fashion. Throughout the year there was always something in vogue. Like every year, this year too we saw some unconventional fashion trends to follow. Various trends come and fade. 2016 was all about crop tops and off shoulders and much more, with everybody right from regular college girls to Bollywood actresses donning it. Here we present to you a recap of the top fashion trends of 2016 and how Bollywood actresses slayed in it.
Crop Tops
The year started with this high street fashion of crop tops giving you a chance to showcase your toned waist. Though this trend started a couple of years back, it was in 2016 that we saw this fashion marking a place in everyone’s wardrobe and racked in all the stores. Crop tops are fun and were a rage for a very long time this year. Showcasing a tad portion of your stomach and pairing it with jeans or skirt you are ready to go! Crop tops also look hot with high rise pants.
Smart Layers
The mid year of 2016 saw the fad of layering. Actresses Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor have experimented with their looks in these layers. It seems to be their favourite for airport diaries as it’s comfortable and stylish at the same time. You can select the layers in different materials and lengths depending on your outfit. While Sonakshi has kept it casual with jeans, Sonam Kapoor opted for a classy and elegant look with layering.
Off-shoulder Tops
Towards the end of 2016 we were all inclined towards off shoulder and shoulder cut out tops. Off shoulder tops have always been in fashion but this year we saw a lot more people around us rocking their way in this extremely feminine outfit. B-town actresses have adorned it for their film promotions and events. Deepika has upped her style game over the years and looks a complete fashionista in this off shoulder top. Mommy-to-be Kareena Kapoor also looked pretty in a powder blue off shoulder dress.
Shoulder cut outs
Shoulder cut outs is the latest rage and is still in vogue and available in the stores right now. It is the most followed trend of the season among all the girls and is a simple way of making our tops look fashionable and chic. Bollywood actresses too have sported this apparel. Alia looked cute in a white shoulder cut out top paired with ripped jeans. Anushka Sharma went for a shoulder cut out maxi dress for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions.
Military camouflage
Now that’s one trend that started off last year and has gotten even more popular in 2016. Camouflage prints are found in jackets, dresses, pants and we see even the men widely following this fad. Apart from the print, military green is an easy go-to color for various occasions. Malaika Arora looked stunning combining the shoulder cut out and camouflage trend at the recent Coldplay concert in Mumbai. Jacqueline too impressed us with her camouflage jacket.
