2. Amitabh Bachchan for Piku and Shamitabh
Amitabh Bachchan‘s performance was the best part of ‘Piku’. His portrayal of the selfish and constipated old man was outstanding. From perfectly speaking Bengali, to delivering some of the spiciest lines, he didn’t seem to miss a single beat. His presence in ‘Shamitabh’ made us spellbound and reminded us just how amazing his voice actually is!

3. Akshay Kumar for Baby
Akshay Kumar gave the best performance of his career in this tremendously accomplished thriller. He was tough throughout the movie. Baby may finally give him a shot at winning a National Award.
4. Irrfan Khan for Talvar
Irrfan Khan leads the movie Talvar like a boss. He was utterly magnificent as Ashwin Kumar– restrained, sarcastic and emotionally engaging. He shined without being a typical hero or too flashy.
5. Nawazudin Siddiqui for Manjhi: The Mountain Man
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is probably one of the few actors who goes deep-diving into any character. He brought Dashrath Manjhi back to life. Without a doubt, it was an award winning performance from him.
6. Ranbir Kapoor for Tamasha
The complexity of bipolar Ved comes alive through Ranbir Kapoor in Tamasha. His performance is beyond acting, you can feel the efforts he has put into present Ved on-screen. He displayed all the emotions, without missing a single beat.
7. Ranveer Singh for Bajirao Mastani
Ranveer Singh had sunk his teeth into the character of Peshwa Bajirao & delivered a phenomenal performance. Right from his flawless Marathi diction, to his correctly done body-language, he is absolutely marvelous.
8. Salman Khan for Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Salman Khan was so good in Bajrangi Bhaijaan that you won’t be able to picture any other actor in this role. His simplicity and honesty in the character of Pawan won over us. He rules the film start to finish.
9. Sushant Singh Rajput for Detective Byomkesh Bakshi
Sushant Singh Rajput as Byomkesh Bakshi is impressive all through. This is his finest performance till date. He has a strong grasp over his body language and it is clear in the movie. He brought a striking edge in the depiction of Bakshi.
10. Varun Dhawan for Badlapur
In the serious role of Raghav, Varun Dhawan came out as a pleasant surprise, after all, the comic, lighthearted and womanizing characters he has played before. As the grieving husband and father, his eyes glittered with hatred and he pulled off the act with unexpected panache.
