Thor Ragnarok, Ittefaq First Day Collection: This Friday Saw The Clash Of A Hollywood Biggie Thor Ragnarok and Hindi thriller Ittefaq.

This week has started on a good note for Bollywood as the big Hollywood release Thor Ragnarak opened to superb numbers. Bollywood film Ittefaq also picked up in the later half of the day to post a respectable day 1 total at the box office. Let’s have a look at Thor Ragnarok and Ittefaq first day collection report.

Thor Ragnarok First Day Collection

The movie had a good start in the evening shows with the occupancy in the range of 25% to 30%. The movie witnessed good growth as the day progressed. High-end metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata saw huge numbers in the evening and night shows. As per early reports, Thor Ragnarok first day collection will be around 9 crores. It is one of the highest opening day grosser of Hollywood in India.

After a big opening day, Thor is expected to record big numbers over the weekend. The fan following of this franchise has increased manifold after the first day. The first instalment of the movie earned only 2.5 crores  in India.

Ittefaq First Day Collection

Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshayye Khanna starrer Ittefaq had a low start in the morning shows on Friday. However, the movie picked up in the evening and night shows. The film was struggling to go past 3 crores till afternoon. Thanks to decent growth in the later half of the day, the first day collection of the movie will be around 4 crores.

These are decent opening numbers for a movie released on 1100 screens and made on a budget of 30 crores. The first day collection will be in the same range as Sidharth’s last film ‘A Gentleman’. However, that film was big on budget, had a wider release and released on a partial holiday. The movie has received good reviews and we can expect it to grow over the first weekend.

So, once again a Hollywood movie has taken a better opening than a Bollywood movie. Hollywood movies are posting big threat and the filmmakers should be concerned about it.
