The initial release date of Half Girlfriend was announced to be 7th October 2016.
Half Girlfriend will be based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller novel Half Girlfriend. Arjun Kapoor will be seen playing the role of a Bihari boy while Shraddha Kapoor will play a typical high-class English speaking rich Delhi girl. Apparently, now the release date of Half Girlfriend has been postponed to 28 April 2017.
Reportedly, Arjun has been going under accent training for Bhojpuri dialect. They will start shooting for the film after Arjun finishes the promotions for his upcoming movie Ki and Ka and Shraddha finishes the shooting of Rock On 2. The film is expected go on floors in May this year and will be shot in varied locations from Bihar, Delhi to New York.
Half Girlfriend will be directed by Mohit Suri, who has previously directed movies like ‘Aashiqui 2‘ and ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’. Ekta Kapoor will produce the film under her banner ‘Balaji Motion Pictures’.
