The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: After the grand success of WandaVision, Marvel’s next big show is all set to arrive on Disney Plus.

  • After WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the second TV series in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  • The buddy adventure show will premiere on March 19, 2021, on Disney Plus.

The first season of WandaVision concluded with an explosive finale leaving all of us emotional. The miniseries show based on two superheroes emerged as one of the best shows of 2021 and enthralled the MCU’s fans for nine weeks. The fans are yet not over WandaVision. Well, there is no need to complain as Marvel is all set to release the next miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as a part of Phase Four of the MCU.

The Disney Plus show created by Malcolm Spellman is based on the Marvel Comics characters Sam Wilson / Falcon and Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier. A buddy comedy adventure show is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019).

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier release schedule

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere on March 19, 2021. A new episode will release every week, with the finale arriving on April 23, 2021. Though there will be only 6 episodes, per episode runtime will be more, unlike WandaVision which disappointed the fans with short episodes. We are expecting the episode runtime to more, ranging from 40 to 50 minutes.

Commenting on the low episode count, Marvel president, Kevin Feige said, “Six hours is what we landed on as the best way to tell our story. Six hours, whether it’s six episodes or nine shorter episodes like WandaVision. The shows aren’t inexpensive, so the per-episode cost is very high and to get that bar I was talking about.”

What we know about the show?

After WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the second TV series in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Picking up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the show focuses on Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon who after being handled the Captain America Shield, teams up with Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, on a rambling mission to take on the anti-patriotism group called the Flag-Smashers.

Marvel chief Kevin Feige said in a release: “Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are spectacular actors and we felt like we hadn’t explored their stories enough as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. We wanted to learn more about both of them after the interactions they had with each other in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.”

Cast and characters

Here is a look at the lead characters to appear in the show:
