Tanhaji 1st Day Collection – Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji is off to a solid start at the box office, collected Rs 15.10 crore on day 1.
As expected, Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero is off to a very good opening at the domestic box office. Released on 3880 screens in India, the film has exceeded expectations and collected Rs 15.1 crore on its opening day.
Tanhaji 1st Day Collection: Occupancy Report
The movie got off to a good start and registered an occupancy of around 25% in the morning shows across the country. Due to the Maratha backdrop, the movie had a very good opening in Maharashtra. It registered 60% occupancy in the morning shows in Maharashtra circuit.
The film witnessed good growth as the day progressed, thanks to positive WOM spreading like fire on social media. The film went into overdrive drive in the evening and night shows. The occupancy in the evening and night shows was very good ranging from 60%-65%.
Tanhaji 1st Day Collection: Fourth Highest opening for Ajay Devgn
We predicted the movie to collect around Rs 13 crore on its first day. However, it is off to a better opening than our expectations. Moreover, it is released on 3880 screens, around 800 screens more than what we expected.
According to Taran Adarsh, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior collected Rs 15.10 crore on its first day. This is a very good start considering that the film is competing against Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak and Akshay Kumar’s Good Newwz.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior becomes Ajay Devgn’s fourth highest opening day grosser after Singham Returns (Rs 32.09 crore), Golmaal Again (Rs 30.14 crore) and Total Dhamaal (Rs 16.50 crore). Superb reviews and positive WOM ensures that the business will multiply in the coming days. It is now eyeing Rs 60+ crore opening weekend at the box office.
Tanhaji Budget and economics
Mounted on a grand scale, Tanhaji is the most expensive film of Ajay Devgn. Its budget including promotion and advertising cost is around Rs 175 crore. So, it needs to earn Rs 200+ crore to become a box office hit. Will it be able to achieve this number? Let’s wait and watch.
