Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon premiered on HBO and the first episode has everything you expect from a worthy spin-off. Set 200 years before the events of GoT, the series follows the rise and fall of the Targaryen family and is based on R. R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood. After a breathtaking first episode, the GoT fans are now excited for the next episode. So, here’s everything we know about House of the Dragon episode 2.
House of the Dragon Episode 2 release date and time
House of the Dragon episode 2 will premiere on Sunday, August 28, 2022, on HBO Max at 9 PM ET (6 PM PT). The episode release time will change based on the time zone. So, here is when the next episode releases in your time zone:

House of the Dragon Episode 2: What to expect and the recap of the premiere
Major spoilers ahead:
Here are the highlights of the first episode titled The Heirs of the Dragon which introduces the background and the main characters of the show.
- King Viserys I Targaryen and his Queen Aemma await the birth of their child who the King is sure will be a boy.
- Queen Aemma experiences difficult pain whilst giving birth. King Viserys orders his maesters to cut the child out of his wife, resulting in the death of Aemma and her son, Baelon.
- Prince Daemon (King Viserys’s young brother) is removed as heir and sent back to his “Lady Queen”.
- King Viserys I informs Princess Rhaenyra (the only child) that she will be named heir to the Iron Throne. He also warns her of a threat, which would start with a great winter and destroy the world of men.
Episode 2 is titled The Rogue Prince. As the title suggests, Prince Daemon will be the “rogue prince”. He will create new trouble for the ailing King Viserys. Princess Rhaenyra may share “The Song of Ice and Fire” secret with someone. She will prepare physically to take the throne. This of course will bring a lot of trouble for her. It would be interesting to see if we see some deaths in the second episode.
