Sushmita Sen was only 24-years-old when she decided to become a mother and today, the actress is a proud mother of two daughters.
Sushmita adopted her first child in the year 2000, at that time many people looked at it as a charity. Recently, the actress admitted that she heard a lot of such stuff, however, confessed that it was the wises decision she took. In an interview, she revealed:
“The wisest decision I made at the age of 24 was to become a mother. It stabilized my life. People think it was a great act of charity and wonderful action but it was self-preservation. It was me protecting myself”.

Talking about the motherhood, Sushmita Sen opened up about how unlike the natural process, she gave birth by heart. She said:
“In the (case of) natural birth, mother and child connect through the umbilical cord but in adoption, the mother and the child are connected by this higher power, a connection that you cannot cut off. I have had the privilege of experiencing it twice. To become a mother who has given birth from the heart. I have not missed a day of feeling the joy of motherhood”.
Recently, Sushmita Sen opened a jewelry store on her first daughter’s name Renee in Dubai.
