There’s no denying to the fact that Sunny Deol once ruled the box-office and the hearts of his millions of fans. During his time, he has given back-to-back hits and memorable performances in the movie Damini, Ghayal, Border, Ghatak, Betaab, Darr and many more. However, there’s one movie that is still fresh in everyone’s mind and still stands out.

The movie that we are talking about is Gadar: Ek Prem Kathha. The movie that was released 19-years-ago and made everyone fall in love with it because of its super-interesting storyline that revolved around Indo-Pakistan conflict and a beautiful love story that is still afresh in everyone’s mind.

Gadar was Sunny Deol’s first movie that touched the 100-crore benchmark at the box-office. Sunny Deol gave one of the best performances of his career in this movie.

Recently, in an interview Sunny Deol about the franchise of his superhit movie Gadar, to which he said that it is a good idea but it won’t be easy to make. Sunny Deol even compared his movie to Hollywood’s Starwars. He said:

That would be a beautiful idea if we could find a subject. There’s a lot of love for the Deols. YPD (Yamla Pagla Deewana) was an interesting concept but after the first film we couldn’t get it right. Gadar for me is like Star Wars, the whole country has seen it. People see it as an Indo-Pak drama. I see it as a beautiful love story. With a great subject, it could be big.”

Gadar did turn out to be a huge hit but is it right to compare the movie with Star Wars? Well, it will be interesting to see if the fans will get a sequel to the movie.
