Sonakshi Sinha will soon start shooting for her next film ‘Haseena’, based on Dawood Ibrahim‘s sisters life.

The movie is titled ‘Haseena- The Queen of Mumbai’, will be directed by Apporva Lakhia and produced by Mubina Rattonsey. Dawood Ibrahim has a total of 12 siblings with two sisters, Haseena Parkar was at seventh position and was supposedly closest to Dawood. Sonakshi Sinha will be playing Haseena‘s role in the movie.

Haseena was known as the underworld queen, she used stay with her son Alishah and a 21-year-old-daughter in Mumbai’s Nagpada. She passed away last year at the age of 55 after suffering from a heart attack. Sonakshi Sinha is very excited to be playing this role, she said “It’s a great script, a powerful role, a very intriguing story and an opportunity to play a character who is the polar opposite of me. I have always wanted to a part of a biopic and this is the perfect one. It’s going to be extremely challenging for me and I am looking forward to it.”

The director Apporva Lakhia is also looking forward to the movie, he said “Haseena aapa was a very complex personality. I have just picked up the threads of her journey and knitted together the tapestry of her life. I was approached by Sameer Antulay with the idea and Mubina, Sonakshi and I are all set to bring her story alive.”

This will be the second time Sonakshi will be a part of a underworld film after Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again. The movie will go on floors from February 2016. A source revealed that “Apoorva wants to shoot the film in real locations as he wants to capture reality. Besides, recreating old Bombay would mean a colossal budget and shooting at real locations will save money. The film will be shot on a tight budget and will be completed in a 60-day schedule.”

Are you looking forward to the movie?
