After two successful seasons, Netflix renewed the super hit show for a third season. The fans are eagerly waiting for the new season as it’s been more than a year. How many seasons of Sex Education are there?
There are currently two seasons of Sex Education available to stream on Netflix. The first season premiered in January 2019. It was followed by an equally good second season in January 2020.

Considering that there was a one-year gap between seasons 1 and 2, we would have seen Sex Education season 3 on Netflix by now. But, the filming delayed due to the pandemic.
Production was expected to start in March 2020 but got delayed by six months. Filming on Sex Education season 3 resumed in Sep 2020 and wrapped up in March 2021.

Netflix has officially confirmed that Sex Education‘s third season will drop on the streamer on Sep 17, 2021. This comes as big news for the fans as they have been waiting for season three since Jan 2020. Season three has eight episodes.
The release date announcement came on Twitter. In the tweet, Netflix also shared the first-look, which includes some of our favorite characters dressed up in uniform, indicating a big change from previous seasons.
