Sanjay Leela Bhansali keen on casting Bhumi Pednekar in his next movie titled Gustakhiyan.
We have been hearing a lot of names as the prospective leading ladies of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film. From Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone to Kareena Kapoor Khan, many names were guessed. It turns out now that Sanjay Leela Bhansali keen on casting Bhumi Pednekar in Gustakhiyan.
Bhansali approached many ladies in Bollywood for the role of Amrita Pritam but did not get any response from even a single one. Now he has decided to move on and has set his eyes on new-comer Bhumi Pednekar. Bhumi made her debut in Bollywood with Dum Lagaa Ke Haisha and impressed one and all with her performance.
According to a source of SpotBoye, “Bhumi is new, talented and not over-exposed. She’s busy with Manmarziyan as of now, but she has met officials from Bhansali’s team. Let’s hope for the best.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali took over Gustakhiyan a year-and-a-half ago from producer Ashi Dua, who had been struggling to cast the primary characters including the roles of poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi , writer Amrita Pritam and artist-poet Imroz.
Could Bhansali bring the perfect cast together? Let’s not get our hopes up yet and wait for the official announcement.
