Karan Johar’s much talked about project Shuddhi‘s lead actor Salman Khan will be paid 150 crs for Shuddhi. A whopping 150 crs!
The project was finalized with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor as the leads earlier. But due to Hrithik’s brain surgery, the movie was shelved and later he opted out citing date problems with Krrish 3. Hearing this, Karan’s favorite Kareena too opted out as she wanted to be paired opposite Hrithik only. The fans too were waiting to see this sizzling onscreen couple as they stopped working after giving hits like Kabhi KhushI Kabhi Gham and Mujse Dosti Karoge. Apparently, the alleged love-affair between them didn’t go down well with Hrithik’s ex-wife Suzanne Khan. Thus, both stopped working together in films and we were hoping they would be back with Shuddhi.
But the country’s heartthrob Salman Khan has bagged the film and 150crs will be the highest fee paid to any Indian actor. Salman’s popularity and the “mass entertainer” tag seems to be working good for the actor. Salman last worked with Karan Johar in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as a special appearance in the film. They haven’t worked thereafter due to the strong friendship between Karan-SRK.
However, all rumors were put to rest when Karan opened the latest season of his celebrity talk show Koffee with Karan with Salman Khan instead of Shah Rukh Khan. The news feeds were buzzing with strained friendship between Karan-SRK. Salman even sarcastically said in the talk show that Karan doesn’t want to work with him for known reasons.
The duo bonded again on the sets of Jhalak Dikhla Ja when Salman came to promote Kick. Both had gala of a time sharing jokes and were even seated next to each other. So when Karan tweeted few days later that Salman Khan will be starring in Shuddhi came as no surprise to the audience. Karan also tweeted on how much he liked Salman in Kick.
Looks like the latest B-Town buddies are Karan-Salman. Salman has signed for Shuddhi but the leading lady hasn’t been finalized yet. The movie which is under Dharma Production will be a Diwali 2016 release and we are eagerly waiting for this duo magic.
