With the release of 2.0 poster, the clash between the two biggest sequels of 2017 is official now. The first look posters of Shankar’s 2.0 were released on 20 Nov 2016. Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer sci-fi film will hit the theatres during Diwali 2017 weekend.
Earlier, Rohit Shetty had announced that his next film of Golmaal series, Golmaal Again will hit the theatres on Diwali. If Robot 2 Vs Golmaal 4 happens, this will be Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn’s third clash at the Box Office in last decade. The first clash happened in 2009 when Akshay’s Blue locked horns with Ajay Devgn’s All The Best. In 2010, Akshay’s Action Replayy clashed with Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal 3. Interestingly, Rohit Shetty was the director of both Ajay Devgn movies and he emerged as a clear winner.
The situation has changed now. Akshay Kumar is the most consistent Bollywood actor these days and with Robot 2 he is ready to shatter the Box Office records. The clash between the two films could well be one of the biggest in the industry as ‘Golmaal’ series has a huge following. In terms of star power and budget, things can’t get better than Robot 2.
Robot 2 seems to have an advantage as Akshay Kumar is in prime form and his presence is enough to pull crowd across the country. (Read: Bollywood movies to clash in 2017)
According to media reports, the much-hyped clash between Robot 2.0 and Golmaal 4 will note take place. Reports suggest that following the average performance of Dilwale, Rohit Shetty has realized that a clash makes no sense and hampers the business of both movies.
As per media reports, “Rohit is very clear that he won’t release Golmaal 4 on the same day as 2.0. He’s a huge fan of Rajinikanth and he’s grown up on the South superstar’s films and has too much respect for the senior actor to clash with his film on the same day.”
We are awaiting for the official release date of Golmaal Again. If happens, this clash will be among the biggest Bollywood clashes of all time.
