Here’s everything you need to know about Riverdale season five.

Riverdale season 5: Expected plot

Season 5 of Riverdale has lots of emotional phases. As we already know, how the fourth
season had begun with an emotional moment after giving tribute to Archie’s father throughout the full season. The upcoming season is expected to continue the thread which was left abruptly in season 4.

Season 4 was building up for the two big prom and graduation events to look forward to. If we watched the previous season 4 then we know it was supposed to air as part of season four, but now it’s been shifted towards the upcoming season 5. This will make the launch of the upcoming season with a dramatic prom as probably an initial sequence. In season 5 of Riverdale, we will have an incredibly big mystery to solve, and a lot of relationship-related matters going on.

We will also see a fast forward of seven years with all the characters graduated. However, it looks like the situation will bring all of them back and exciting adventures take place.

At some point, Toni Topaz will be expecting a baby after actress Vanessa Morgan revealed her real-life pregnancy has been incorporated into season five. “Feeling grateful to my showrunner and producers for being so accommodating and writing my pregnancy into the show!” Morgan wrote on Instagram ahead of season five’s release.

Riverdale season 5: Cast

While details of the next season’s cast have not yet been announced officially, most of the lead actors are expected to return for season 5.

We do know that Jughead’s dad, FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich), will not return. As he revealed to TV Line, Ulrich has decided to move on for better opportunities. He bagged a role in the upcoming Tom Hanks film Bios.

Another series regular, Marisol Nichols, who played Hermione Lodge, is also confirmed not to be returning as a series regular.

Back in February, creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said, “I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavors. FP and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale.”

However, we are expecting to see KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, and Camila Mendes return as Archie Andrews, Jughead, Betty Cooper, and Veronica Lodge respectively, as well as fellow students like Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton), Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), Toni (Vanessa Morgan), and Kevin Keller (Casey Cott).

Drew Ray Tanner, who plays Fangs Fogarty, has also been added and is going to do regular roles in series five.
