Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020, due to prolonged illness. On his second death anniversary, his fans and family members are remembering him. Known for his charismatic screen presence, Rishi Kapoor was active in the industry for 50 years. In fact, his last movie Sharmaji Namkeen as an actor was released recently.

Rishi Kapoor enjoyed a huge fan base. He was one of the few actors who had a solid second inning in the industry. The talented actor left us two years ago and we are surely missing him. On his second death anniversary, here’s a look at Rishi Kapoor’s biography and prolific career.

Rishi Kapoor Biography

Born in Bombay, Rishi Kapoor was the second son of director Raj Kapoor (Showman of Indian Cinema). He did his schooling at Campion School, Mumbai, and Mayo College, Ajmer.

He debuted in his father’s film Mera Naam Joker in 1970 as a child artist. He got his first lead role opposite Dimple Kapadia in the 1973 film Bobby, which was a huge hit and earned him the Best Actor Filmfare Award and the rest is history.

In the next 20 years, he delivered some big hits like ‘Khel Khel Mein’, Rafoo Chakkar, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar  Anthony, Duniya Meri Jeb Mein, Laila Majnu, Karz, Prem Rog, Nagina, Henna, Bol Radha Bol, Chandni, Deewana, etc. He played leading roles as the romantic lead in 92 films between 1973 and 2000, of which 36 were box office hits.

He was one of the few Bollywood stars who had an equally successful second inning. He delivered some power-packed performances in his second inning which includes films like Do Duni Chaar, Agneepath Mulk, D Day, 102 Not Out, Kapoor & Sons, etc. Rishi Kapoor in his 50 years career was the most flexible and dynamic actor, twisted his bones and revamped himself. His performance impacted us, made critics blush, and left the audience in awe.
