Ranveer Singh goes Bald for Bajirao Mastani

Actors can go to any extent to get into their roles. After Shahid Kapoor went bald for Haider, Ranveer Singh too has taken the same step for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Bajirao Mastani is based on the love story of Peshwa Baji Rao played by Ranveer Singh and his wife Mastani played by Deepika Padukone and will see Priyanka Chopra in the role of Kashibai, Bajirao’s first wife.

The actor has also hired a Marathi teacher to prepare him for the role, Peshwa Bajirao.

A source explains, “Ranveer Singh needs to look convincing as a Maratha warrior. He also needs to acquire a more somber image than the one he has. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has asked Ranveer to control his nervous energy off screen and use it for the role.”

The source also revealed how hard Ranveer is working for the film. “Ranveer would have to get his language and diction completely right. The director doesn’t want a hue and cry over the language being mis-pronounced. Ranveer is already familiar with Marathi and can even speak the language, but for this role he needs to get the nuances and layering right.”

Ranveer too looks quite excited for the periodic drama. He says, “Preparations for ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is very intense. I will have to learn Marathi, horse riding, pick up the accent and do a lot of work for the character. I will have to shave off my hair, work on my look and the physical aspect. I have allotted fair amount of time to prepare for this film. It is a large commitment for me to give time for one project, but the film demands it and I am more than happy to do it. I believe in the director and the film. Through this film we are trying to achieve something that hopefully will be landmark in our cinema.”

As we all know Sanjay Leela Bhansali brings the best out his actors and puts lots of pressure on them to perform the role with perfection .Deepika and Ranveer delivered blockbuster Ram Leela and
they are again going to deliver another hit together.

Bajirao Mastani is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream project. The ace director of Bollywood has waited for around 10 years to start this project. Staring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, Bajirao Mastani will be releasing on 25-Dec-2015.
