Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has taken a superb start at box office on Sunday. Early trends suggest that the movie opened to 55% occupancy in the morning shows. The movie has reported better occupancy than Friday and Saturday. Yesterday the movie reported 45% occupancy in the morning shows. A good start ensures that the movie will put huge numbers today.
Raees opened to 50% occupancy today which is just 5% less than the opening day. The multiplexes in metro cities have picked up. Raees is expected to show good growth in the noon and evening shows because of the holiday. It will be interesting to see how the movie performs in the night shows as there is a normal working day tomorrow. If Raees does that it will surely challenge for a huge 20 crore nett collection for today.
The movie should grow further in Noon shows because of Sunday. Hope film shows good hold in Evening and Night shows where film generally tend to show drop. If Raees manages to sustain in night shows then it will surely cross 20 crores mark today.
Raees has already collected 75.44 crores in first 4 days. With 20 crores coming today, Raees total collection will be 95+ crores by the end of the extended first weekend. Made on a budget of 95 crores, Raees needs to earn 100+ crores to be a safe bet for the producers. The movie needs to sustain well on Monday and Tuesday to emerge as first HIT of 2017.
