Movies Of The Week – Gulaab Gang, Queen And Total Siyapaa

It’s a Filmy Friday for Bollywood movies goers as we have three star-packed releases  Queen, Gulaab Gang and Total Siyapaa set for release on 7th March 2014.It’s a buffet of movies for Bollywood lovers as all three movies are for the audiences of different genres and taste. Its a win- win situation for the audiences as they have three good  options to choose from this weekend.

Lets have a detailed look at this week movies releases.

Gulaab Gang

Gulaab Gang is one of the most awaited movies of the year which is directed by debutant Soumik Sen and produced by Anubhav Sinha. It is presented under the banner of Benaras MediaWorks and Sahara Movie Studios

This social action drama will see Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla working together for the first time in a film but in contrasting roles. Madhuri is playing a leader of a women group taking a stand for justice while Juhi will appear as a cunning politician. Mahie Gill, Shilpa Shukla and Tanishtha Chatterjee will are the supporting cast.

Sampat Pal, a social activist and leader of the group of pink saree clad women Gulabi Gang from North India, filed a case against the makers of the film for harming her reputation as she thinks that the movie based on her life. So, Delhi HC has banned its release till May 8 on March which was lifted a few hours ago..

The movie is based on a real group of women (wearing pink colored saris) activists from the district of Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh. It works for the empowerment of women.

Queen

Queen is a romantic comedy which has Kangana Ranavat and Rajkumar Rao in main leads. It is directed by Vikas Bahl and presented under Viacom 18 Motion Pictures & Phantom Films. Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane have produced this film.

Queen is a story of a young Punjabi girl whose wedding is called off because her fiancé gets killed in a car accident.But instead of crying or brooding, she decides to move on in life and goes alone on her honeymoon to Amsterdam. Queen primitively focuses on growing of a young conservative girl as an individual and her journey of rediscovering her own identity.

This interesting and out of box plot is what makes Queen a curious watch. Queen has created enough buzz thanks to its good music and feel good trailer. The movie is expected to release on around 1100 screens facing fierce competition with the other releases Gulaab Gang and Total Siyapaa.

Total Siyapaa

The movie is directed by Eeshwar Nivas, produced by Neeraj Panday (director of A Wednesday and Special 26) and presented under the banner of Reliance Entertainment, A Friday Filmworks and AKA Pictures Company Ltd.

The leading pair is Ali Zafar as Aman (last seen in Chashme Baddoor) and Yaami Gautam as Asha (Vicky Donar fame). Anupam Kher and his real wife Kiran Kher will also appear for the first time together on the silver screen.

The story revolves around the love affair of an Indian girl (Asha) and a Pakistani boy (Aman) and when the family of the girl knows about this then all the Siyapaa (meaning chaos) takes place and finally which forms the crux of the movie.
