Padmavati Is A Risky Film For Me As An Actor: Ranveer Singh

It is a well-known fact that Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are reuniting for the third time after Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer Singh is playing Alauddin Khilji in the movie.

Ranveer is currently busy with the promotions of his next ‘Befikre’ slated for release on 9 Dec 2016. While talking to media when Ranveer was asked about Padmavati, he said that is is the riskiest and most challenging role of his life.

The actor believes that this is the toughest characters he has played. “It’s completely out of my comfort zone. It’s a negative character. And to make such maverick decisions at this stage (of my career) is a huge risk. But I have to keep my creativity alive. I have always maintained that something is worth doing only if it thoroughly scares you,” he said.

Produced by Viacom 18 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmavati will be one of the most expensive films of Bollywood with the estimated budget of 170 crores.

Went on floors last week, the movie also stars Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. While Deepika is playing a titular role of Rani Padmavati, Shahid is playing his husband, Rana Rawal Ratan Singh. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on 17 Nov 2017.
