OTT Updates: Movies & Shows Releasing In The Second Week of August 2022

The first week of August saw the release of some exciting movies and shows on OTT including Alia Bhatt’s Darlings, fantasy drama The Sandman, and more. Well, the second week will offer more entertainment as some most awaited movies and shows are set to release. Netflix is coming up with the next season of its three popular shows, Lock & Key, Never Have I Ever, and DOTA: Dragon. I Just Killed My Dad

Release Date: August 9

Netflix brings yet another true docu-series that will choke you. The three episodes series is about a child who killed his father. It is about Anthony Templet, who at the age of 17 shot his father.

The official Netflix synopsis of the series reads, “Anthony Templet shot his father and never denied it. But why he did is a complex question with profound implications that go far beyond one family.”

Locke & Key Season 3

Release Date: August 10

The third and final season of Netflix’s popular horror drama series Locke and Key premieres on Aug 10. The final season will see new keys, loads of drama and action, and some time-traveling things.

Bank Robbers: The Last Great Heist

Platform: Netflix

Release Date: August 10

The documentary follows how, and why, a group of men pulled off the biggest bank robbery in Argentina in 2006. The movie follows a group of criminals who managed to rob a Buenos Aires bank, hold 23 people hostage, and make their escape through a tunnel and safe system beneath the bank.

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Season 3

Platform: Netflix

Release Date: August 11

The third season of the animated series based on the hit Valve game Dota 2 is set to premiere on Aug 10. The Netflix synopsis reads:

“A conflicted yet courageous Dragon Knight must use the power of the dragon within to stop a deadly demon in this epic fantasy based on the online game.”

Never Have I Ever Season 3

Release Date: August 12

The third season of Netflix’s popular romantic drama series will premiere on Aug 12. In the third season, Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton (Darren Barnet) will make their relationship official.

Peacemaker

Platform: Amazon Prime Video

Release Date: August 14

Peacemaker is based on the DC Comics anti-hero of the same name. It is a spin-off/sequel to The Suicide Squad and the first television series in the DC Extended Universe, sharing continuity with the other media of the franchise.

The series premiered in the United States on HBO in Jan 2022. Now, it is getting released in India on Prime Video.
