OTT Update: 5 Exciting New Movies & Shows to Watch on May 15

We are closing the second week of May and the heatwave is at its peak. We know it’s difficult to roam out for important work, let alone watch movies in theatres. So, in order to keep you entertained, we have compiled a list of the top 5 new movies and shows streaming on various OTT platforms. Let’s have a look:

Modern Love: Mumbai

Platform: Amazon Prime Video

Modern Love: Mumbai is an anthology series directed by filmmakers Shonali Bose, Hanal Mehta, Vishal Bhardwaj, Alankrita Shrivastava, Dhruv Sehgal, and Nupur Asthana. It is the first of the three Indian adaptations of the hit US anthology of the same name. The two others are Modern Love: Chennai and Modern Love: Hyderabad.

Premiered on May 13, 2022, the series is already getting rave reviews. The viewers have only good things to say about this romantic drama series.

The Kashmir Files

Platform: Zee5

The biggest Bollywood blockbuster of the year, The Kashmir Files, is now streaming on Zee5. The movie presents a storyline centred around an exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in Kashmir. The Kashmir Files stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi.

After blockbuster success in cinemas, The Kashmir Files is a huge success on OTT as more than 20 million people streamed it on the very first day.

42 Days of Darkness 

Platform: Netflix

42 Days of Darkness is the first Chilean original Netflix series. The series based on a true story is about a young woman struggling to find her missing sister as she fights through injustice. The thrilling drama will keep you hooked to your seats till the very end.

The official description of the Spanish thriller reads:

“A Woman’s Struggle to Find the Whereabouts of her Missing Sister. This Will Have to Fight Against the Negligence of the Institutions, The Prejudices of Loneliness and The Harassment of the Media.”

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1

Platform: Netflix

A new drama series based on the Michael Connelly book, The Brass Verdict. It was previously adapted in the 2013 Lionsgate movie starring Matthew McConaughey. The series stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, and azz Raycole.

The summary of the series reads:

“Sidelined after an accident, hotshot Los Angeles lawyer Mickey Haller restarts his career — and his trademark Lincoln — when he takes on a murder case.”

The Matrix Resurrections

Platform: Amazon, Book My Show

The Matrix Resurrections is a sequel to The Matrix Revolutions (2003) and the fourth instalment in the Matrix film franchise. The sci-fi action film produced, co-written, and directed by Lana Wachowski, was released in theatres in 2021.

If you are a fan of the Matrix franchise then you should give this one a chance. However, don’t expect much as this one is nowhere close to its prequel.
