No points to guess, Hulu renewed the series for a second season in September 2021 even before the first season concluded airing. Well, the renewal came as no surprise as the show debuted as the most-watched Hulu Original comedy on premiere day, as well as the most-watched comedy on premiere day across all SVOD titles ever on the platform.
Only murders in the Building Season 2 Release Date
The fans are in for a treat here as the makers have revealed the release date for the upcoming season. On March 24, a cryptic social media post having an unexplained image of Arconia’s elevator call buttons was published across various social media handles of the series. The post served as a puzzle to solve to reveal the release date of the upcoming season.

Fans were quick to solve the post and flooded the official page with possible answers. Based on the puzzle, most of the fans guessed that the second season will premiere on June 28 or August 26.
Later, Hulu released a video featuring the cast on its official page to announce that Only Murders in the Building Season 2 will premiere on June 28, 2022.
The first two episodes of Only Murders in the Building Season 2 will arrive on Hulu on June 28, 2022. After that, a new episode will release every Tuesday until August 23, when the season finale airs.
Hulu launched season one on August 31, 2021. In the UK, season one episodes were dropped on Disney Plus a day after airing on Hulu. We are expecting the show to follow the same release pattern in the UK for the second season.
How Many Episodes Are There in Only Murders in the Building Season 2?
Much like the first season, Only Murders in the Building Season 2 has a total of 10 episodes.
Soon after the official release date announcement, Hulu released a teaser that shows what will happen to the murder-solving trio after the final episode of season one. The teaser also features new faces Amy Schumer and Cara Delevingne. Both of them will join the dynamic trio to investigate the murder.
Another teaser was released on May 17, 2022. This sixty-seven seconds long teaser features funny moments without revealing too much about the plot. Watch is here:
Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Cast: New and Old Members
There will be no shortage of great moments this season as Steve Martin (Charles), Martin Short (Oliver), and Selena Gomez (Mabel) return.
There’s a good chance Tina Fey will have a bigger role in the new season. The season one finale teased that Cinda Canning would start a podcast featuring our favorite true crime podcasters.
Season 2 will also feature Bunny, as confirmed by John Hoffman. Hoffman said Oscar and Mabel still have a lot to work out in their burgeoning but “complicated” relationship. Hence, Aaron Dominguez will also reprise his role.
We might see Teddy Dimas and Theo Dimas again in the second despite being in a lot of trouble according to Hoffman.
It is most important to note that the Arconia will continue to be a major player in season 2. Additionally, he hinted that Only Murders in the Building may not end with the second season. It might go beyond the apartment buildings in Manhattan.

Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Plot
The series stars Steve Martin (Charles Haden-Savage), Selena Gomez (Mabel Mora), and Martin Short (Oliver Putnam). They are neighbors in a New York apartment complex named, Arconia. One night they meet each other and realize that the three of them have a common interest in listening to murder mystery podcasts. They decide to start their own podcast about their investigation of the death, which the police ruled a suicide.
It was just as much a mystery as it was an answer in the season 1 finale. The killer of Tim Kono was finally revealed. And it wasn’t the Dimas. Rather, it was Jan, Charles’ girlfriend and resident of Arconia.
The first season ended with the trio planning a party to commemorate the successful investigation of Tim Kono’s murder. We are presented with a brand new crime in the final moments of the episode. It involves the murder of Bunny, the building manager. Oliver, Mabel, and Charles are all arrested. Her body was found stabbed with knitting needles in Mabel’s arms.
Our iconic trio of sleuths will want to clear their names in season 2. They’ll also need to find Bunny’s killer.
Are Cinda Canning and her podcast just going to podcast their misfortune? Are they so popular with Detective Williams that the charges will be dropped? Does season 2 also have a title like Cinda’s podcast?
Hoffman said season 2 will take a “bigger turn”. Finding out why Bunny was in Mabel’s apartment in the first place may be the key to unraveling the plot.
The second season of Arconia would also provide more information about Arconia’s history, Hoffman teased. Mabel might be in hotter water than Oliver or Charles for Bunny’s death, Hoffman suggested. Mabel’s storyline will be able to expand more because of that.

Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver & Mabel race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue – the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder.

Will There Be an Only Murders in the Building Season 3?
On March 30, 2022, Selena Gomez shared a TikTok video where she, Steve Martin, and Martin Short celebrated Only Murders in the Building Season 2. “To a great Season 2,” Gomez and Short call before Martin shouts, “To a great Season 3!” Gomez then responds, “No, well. Okay, well hopefully,” to which Martin adds in between, “Well, next year.”
Though there is no official announcement regarding the third season, Gomez’s TikTok video hints that there will be more murder mysteries in the coming years.
