A little too hard to believe but Salman Khan becomes the highest paid actor in Bollywood.
Until now, the highest amount paid to Bollywood actors or actresses had not crossed 60 crores. Aamir Khan got paid a total of around 60-65 crores for Dhoom 3, but Bhaijaan has broken all those records Salman Khan becomes the highest paid actor with approx 100 crores for Sultan.
Before you get a heart attack, let me explain. Salman Khan did not actually take any kind of fee for the movie upfront. Instead, he decided to take a 50 : 50 profit share on Sultan. This helped in keeping the budget of the movie in control i.e approximately 90 crores. The movie was sold to Sony Entertainment Channel for more than 60 crores. Sultan earned around 15 crores from 10-12 brand endorsements and the music rights given to Yash Raj Films have been valued at 12-15 crores including the digital sales, physical sales and all other copyright sales too.
Combining all this an considering the worst case scenario, Sultan will earn atleast 200-225 crore worldwide distirbutor share. Going by the 50:50 share, Salman Khan will be paid an amount of a renumeration of atleast 100 crores, thus mkaing him the highest paid actor of Bollywood. In the first weekend itself, Sultan has managed a distributor share of appox 135-140 crores.
