OK Jaanu Box Office Prediction: Will It Break The January Jinx For Bollywood?

Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer OK Jaanu will hit the theatres on this Friday. Directed by Shaad Ali,  it is an official remake of Mani Ratnam‘s Tamil film OK Kanmani that featured Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen. The move is boasting on super hit music by A.R. Rahman. Positives
1) Super Hit Music: Title song and ‘Humma Humma’ have made it to the top of the chartbusters list.

Negatives
1) Shaad Ali’s track record as a director is average. His last two films Kill Dil and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom were big flops.
2) Dangal is still going strong and will surely give a tough fight to ‘OK Jaanu’ especially in metros and multiplexes.
3) Limited appeal: ‘OK Jannu’ is for the multiplex audience only.
4) January curse: For the last ten years, the first release of the year bombs at the Box Office.

Overall, the things are not looking good the movie. Despite heavy promotions, the movie hasn’t been able to create the expected hype and buzz. While we are expecting an opening day collection to be around 6 Crore, the Box Office fate of the movie will largely depend on the WOM. If the movie fails to click then it will wrap up its Box Office journey within a week. If the content clicks among the audience then it will easily cross 50 Crore mark and emerge as a super hit at the Box Office.
