A few days ago news broke out that Akshay Kumar will be charging Rs 120 crore for Aanand L Rai’s film.
There is no denying that Akshay Kumar is going through a dream phase of his career. His films are shattering box office records and in the last few years, he has emerged as the most bankable star of Bollywood. Akshay already has six movies in his kitty and one of then is Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re. Slated for release on 14 Feb 2021, the film also stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan.
A few days ago news broke out that Akshay will charge Rs 120 crore for the film. Well, this news shocked everyone as no actor has even charged Rs 100 crore before. Apparently, it turns out a fabricated figure. In fact, Akshay is not charging a single penny for Atrangi Re.
Akshay has a guest appearance in the film. The film revolves around the characters played by Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan. Akshay has a small but very important role. He has signed the film for free as a token of gratitude.
This is not the first time Akshay is doing a guest appearance for free. He has done a cameo (as a gay) in Rohit Dhawan’s Dishoom for which he didn’t charge a single penny.
