So, another exciting weekend lined up for Netflix subscribers. A spin-off to adult animated series Big Mouth, Human resources is also debuting. Here’s a look at movies and shows releasing on Netflix this weekend (March 17th to 19th, 2022).

Rescued by Ruby on March 17

Best known for playing The Flash on The CW, Grant Gustin will be playing a state trooper named Dan, who dreams of joining the K-9 search and rescue team of the state police. But he keeps failing until he befriends a shelter dog named Ruby. The real-life drama is directed by Katt Shea.

Human Resources on March 18

Human Resources is a workplace-comedy spin-off of Netflix’s super successful hit animated series Big Mouth. An adult sitcom is created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett.

The workplace comedy series has some familiar faces from Big Mouth where they have to juggle their own relationships and work commitments.

Is it Cake on March 18

Is it Cake? is a reality competition where talented bakers create cakes that look like everyday objects such as a shoe, a beach ball, handbags, sewing machines and much more. It is based on the internet trend of creating scarily realistic-looking bakes.

Andrew Fuller, April Julian, Dessiree Salaverria, Hemu Basu, Jonny Manganello, Justin Rasmussen-Ellen, Nina Charles, Sam Cade, and Steve Weiss are the bakers we will see in the first season. The series is hosted by Saturday Night Live‘s host Mikey Day.

Windfall on March 18

Netflix’s new neo-thriller directed by Charlie McDowell stars Jason Segel, Lily Collins, Jesse Plemons and Omar Leyva.

Nothing much is known about the plot of the movie except that it is a noir thriller. The synopsis reads:

“A man breaks into a tech billionaire’s empty vacation home, but things go sideways when the arrogant mogul and his wife arrive for a last-minute getaway.”

Black Crab on March 18

This Swedish thriller is set in a post-apocalyptic world where six soldiers must set out on a dangerous expedition to transport a mysterious package across a frozen archipelago without knowing who they can trust.

Black Crab is based on the novel of the same name by Jerker Virdborg. Directed by Adam Berg, it stars Noomi Rapace, Jakob Oftebro, Erik Enge, Dar Salim, Ardalan Esmaili, Aliette Opheim and David Dencik.

Here is the logline for the film:

“To end an apocalyptic war and save her daughter, a reluctant soldier embarks on a desperate mission to cross a frozen sea carrying a top-secret cargo.”
