Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde starrer Mohenjo Daro is off to a poor opening at the domestic Box Office. This was always on the cards when it failed to create the hype and buzz it was expected. Released on around 2700 screens, the movie registers an occupancy of around 30% on its opening day which is very low considering that it is a Hrithik Roshan movie. As per the official figures shared by Taran Adarsh, Mohenjo Daro first day collection is 8.87 crores. Mohenjo Daro got off to a terrible opening with the occupancy in the morning shows was as low as 25%. The movie failed to witness considerable growth in the evening and night shows and ends up with a terrible opening day numbers. Despite releasing on more screens compared to Akshay Kumar’s Rustom, Mohenjo Daro failed to capitalise. Rustom remains the first choice for the moviegoers in prominent circuits like Delhi. Mumbai, East-Punjab and central India. Mohenjo Daro gets better off Rustom only in South India where Hrithik Roshan enjoys a big fan following. Overall, it was a terrible opening day for Hrithik Roshan.

As per the official figures shared by Taran Adarsh, Mohenjo Daro first day collection is 8.87 crores. These are terrible numbers considering that Hrithik Roshan is a big superstar and is making a comeback after almost two years. Mohenjo Daro is the 9th highest opening day grosser of 2016. The movie even failed to beat the opening day collection of Baaghi, Dishoom and Udta Punjab.
Things aren’t looking good for Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowariker as the WOM and reviews hasn’t been positive. Made on a huge budget of 115 crores, the movie needs to show tremendous growth on Saturday and Sunday in order to have any chance at the Box Office.
