Superstar Dhanush starrer much-awaited action entertainer ‘Maaran’ will release directly on Disney+ Hotstar.
The trailer of Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan starrer Maaran was unveiled on Monday, February 28. In the first of its kind launch for a Tamil movie, the fans launched the trailer on Twitter through a feature called ‘Twitter Unlock’.
The trailer is now available on YouTube and Disney+ Hotstar. Maaran looks like a complete family entertainer. The movie features Dhanush as a gutsy and celebrated investigative journalist who speaks the truth without any fear. He gets in trouble after revealing something about a famous politician. Malavika Mohanan stars as his colleague and lover. The trailer also features Dhanush’s joyous and emotional bond with his on-screen sister played by Smruthi Venkat.
Presented by Sathya Jyothi Films T G Thyagarajan and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan, Maaran is directed by Karthick Naren. It also stars Samuthirakani, Krishna Kumar, Mahendran, Jayaprakash and Aadukalam Naren among others.
Maaran OTT Release Date
India’s top OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the digital streaming rights of Maaran. Dhanush starrer has skipped the theatrical route and will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar on March 11, 2022.
Maaran will be Dhanush’s third consecutive digital release. His previous two movies Jagame Thandhiram and Atrangi Re also skipped the theatrical release and were released directly on OTT. Jagame Thandhiram is available on Netflix while Atrangi Re is available on Disney+ Hotstar.
