Shahrukh Khan’s Fan and Raees, Salman Khan’s Sultan, Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay are some of the most awaited Bollywood movies of 2016.
2015 was a good year for Bollywood as far as the content of movies is concerned. Movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Drishyam, Piku, Baby, Bajirao Mastani not only critically acclaimed but also turned out big hits at the Box Office. Well, the hopes will be high in 2016 as well as some promising movies are all set to hit the theaters. We are very much excited seeing the list of movies that are going to release next year. Airlift
Airlift is the story of Indians stranded in Kuwait during a traumatic time of Saddam Hussein’s invasion. Akshay Kumar plays the role of a wealthy and powerful Indian businessman, who unknowingly becomes the man who all the Kuwaiti-Indians look up to for getting them safely out from Kuwait. Airlift, directed by Raja Krishna Menon started filming in April 2015 and is expected to release on 20, January 2016.
Sultan
Sultan will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Salman Khan has already started training for Yash Raj Film’s upcoming project. Reports are that the plot of the film revolves around a father-son duo and both will be played by the actor himself. This will be the first movie where Salman Khan will appear as an old man. Though he will gradually age as the movie progresses. Sultan will premiere during Eid 2016.

Shivaay
Shivaay is Ajay Devgn’s second film as a director. He said “Shivaay revolves around the imperfections of Lord Shiva and how it makes him strong. The movie is not an epic but a modern take on the story.” The movie also stars Dilip Kumar’s grand-niece Sayesha Saigal. She will be making her debut as Sati. Shivaay is expected to release around Diwali 2016.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a multi-starer romantic flick of Karan Johar. It has been reported that the film will present Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan as a married couple while Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will play another pair. Apparently it won’t be a happy romantic love story, but a somewhat tragic one which will put a light on the dark side of relationships.
Mohenjo Daro
Mohenjo Daro is Ashutosh Gowariker’s most ambitious film till date with a massive budget of 100 crores! Starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hedge, the film is set in the ancient city of Mohenjo-Daro. The action sequences of Mohenjo Daro are said to be along the lines of Hollywood standards. Glen Boswell, who choreographed stunts for films like The Matrix, is training Hrithik for the stunts. The movie will hit theaters on 12 August, 2016.
Fan
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Fan is based on the story of a crazy fan who is keen on meeting the superstar he idolizes. Shahrukh Khan will portray the characters of a ruling superstar, inspired by his real self, and that of a common man, named Gaurav. The character of Gaurav is a huge fan of the superstar. The film is scheduled for release on April 15, 2016.
Raees
Raees is a crime-thriller film directed by Rahul Dholakia. The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique and Mahira Khan in lead roles. Raees shows the story of a cruel and clever bootlegger, played by Shah Rukh Khan whose business is thwarted by a tough cop Ghulam Patel, played by Nawaz. The film is loosely based on the life of Ahmedabad-based Don Abdul Latif. The film is scheduled to be released on 8 July 2016.
Dangal
Dangal is a biographical film based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. Geeta went on to become India’s first female wrestler to win gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games while Babita won the silver. Aamir Khan will be seen playing Mahavir’s role. Dangal is expected to release around Christmas next year.
Azhar
As the name suggests, Azhar is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Directed by Tony D’Souza, the movie relives the match fixing scandal of 2000 in which Azharuddin himself was accused. Prachi Desai will play the role of Azhar’s first wife. Azhar will release on 13th May 2016.

Rustom
On his 48th birthday, Akshay Kumar announced his new romantic thriller ‘Rustom’, which marks his third collaboration with Neeraj Pandey. The movie will release on the weekend of Independence Day, 2016.
Housefull 3
The third installment of Housefull series will also hit the theaters next year. It will feature Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon in lead roles.
Sarbjit
Randeep Hooda will be playing the role of Sarabjit in director Omung Kumar’s biopic on the slain Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh and his sister’s struggle for his release. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play his sister.
Baaghi
Baaghi is Tiger Shroff‘s second film with the director Sabbir Khan. He will be seen opposite Shraddha Kapoor. Shroff will be playing a role of a rebel, who will go to great lengths to fight for his love.
Dishoom
Dishoom is an action-packed film directed b David Dhawan starring John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Akshaye Khanna and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles.
