Laid Back Camp (Yuru Camp, known as Yurukyan in Japanese) is a slice of life anime TV series based on a manga series of the same name. Written and illustrated by Afro, the manga was first published on May 23, 2015. In 2018, studio C-Station adapted the manga into an anime series. The first season comprising of 12 episodes aired in Japan from January 4, 2018, to March 28, 2018. Following the success of the first season, the studio announced the sequel. The second season aired from Jan 7, 2012, to Apr 1, 2021. As per Crunchyroll, Laid Back is in their “Top 100 best anime of the 2010s”. With just a few months passed since the first season wrapped up, the fans are already waiting for the third season. Fans are eager to know if their favourite group of campers will arrive again. Will there be Laid Camp Season 3?

With just a few months passed since season two wrapped up airing, there isn’t a formal announcement from the makers regarding the third season. Well, the fans should not worry as anime series take some time between seasons. The first and second seasons of Laid Back premiered at a large gap.

The first season premiered in Jan 2018, followed by a short spinoff series called “ROOM CAMP” released in 2020. Season 2 premiered in January 2021, around three years after the first season.

Considering the popularity of the anime, there is no reason that the makers would cancel the series. So, the fans should wait for an official announcement and hope for the best.

When is the Laid Back Season 3 release date?

It’s difficult to predict the release date of the third season as the studio hasn’t renewed. However, looking at the release pattern of the last two seasons, we can expect Laid Back Season 3 to release in Jan 2024.

However, the fans shouldn’t worry as “Laid Back Camp” has something else in store for them. “Laid Back Camp” anime movie announced in 2018 is scheduled to release in Japan in early summer 2022.

Yumiri Hanamori, Nao Tōyama, Sayuri Hara, Aki Toyosaki, and Rie Takahashi will in October reprise their voice roles from the anime series, with their characters going to be mature in the movie.

Laid Back Camp (Yuru Camp) Plot

Yuru camp is not one of those animes having an absorbing plot. As a slice of life anime series, it has a pretty simple and clean plot. The anime series narrates the adventures of two alfresco young girls Rin Shima, Nadeshiko Kagamihara, and their friends as they travel to various campsites across the country.

Rin is a very simple and non-materialistic girl. Unlike other girls of her age, Rin loves spending her free time alone camping at the base of the beautiful Mount Fuji. During one such camping session, she met another girl called Nadeshiko who gets lost. Like Rin, Nadeshiko is heading to Mount Fuji but fell asleep on the way. She gets separated from her sister. Lost and alone, the only thing Nadeshiko could do is find her way back home and hope to reunite with her sister.

This encounter marks the beginning of a heartwarming tale of friendship between two girls. Yuru Camp is one pleasing anime series you would love to watch.

Rin Shima

Rin is the main lead of the show. She is a young and simple girl. She loves to camp alone rather than go on exotic and expensive vacations like other girls of her age.

Nadeshiko Kagamihara

Nadeshiko is a dynamic girl who befriends Rin on her way to Mount Fuji. She instantly forms a close bond with Rin. The animes series chronicles the adventures of Rin Shima, Nadeshiko Kagamihara, and their friends as they travel to various campsites across the country

Chiaki Ōgaki

Voiced by: Sayuri Hara

Chiaki is a co-president of the Outdoor Activities Circle. Interestingly, Chiaki also shares her birthday with Nadeshiko

Aoi Inuyama

Another important character in the show, Aoi is the co-president of The Outdoor Activities Club.
