According to reports, Ananya Pandey’s ‘Khaali Peeli’ and Jhanvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena to release directly on the OTT platform.
Due to the lockdown caused by Corona, the entertainment industry is going through a tough phase. Multiplexes and Cinema halls across the country are closed due to the lockdown. Shoots are on indefinite hold. Many films are but because there is a lockdown and the cinema halls are also closed, they are not being released. In such a situation, filmmakers are looking for direct digital release.
Amazon Prime Video has recently acquired the digital rights of 7 movies including 2 Bollywood movies. All these movies will release on the streaming giant in the next two months. As the condition is not getting better, filmmakers are planning for direct digital release to minify or compensate for the loss.

Khaali Peeli digital release date and platform
Reports suggest that Ishan Khatter and Ananya Pandey starrer ‘Khaali Peeli’ would make its way directly to a digital platform. Directed by Maqbool Khan, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on 12 June 2020. However, du to lockdown, the makers have decided to go for digital release. Produced by Zee Studios, the film is reported to make its digital debut in June 2020.
Gunjan Saxena digital release date and platform
Jahnvi Kapoor’s ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ failed to release in April due to the lockdown. Now, this biopic film will release directly on Netflix. The digital premiere date would be announced soon.

The film is a biopic of Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena, the first female and Indian woman airforce pilot in combat along with Srividya Rajan. Directed by Sharan Sharma, it also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi in supporting roles.
A few days ago it was also reported that Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb will also get a direct digital release. However, the makers haven’t confirmed the news yet.
