Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2 will soon enter Bollywood’s Rs 400 Crore club.
Running in its third week, Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2 is simply unstoppable at the box office. It slowed down a bit at the start of this week but the Eid holidays have provided it a late boost. In fact, it is the first choice for moviegoers this week, completely washing out two new Bollywood releases Runway 34 and Heropanti 2.
As per trade expert Taran Adarsh, KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi) collected Rs 8.75 Crore on Tuesday (Day 21). The total collection of the movie is Rs 391.65 Crore. With this, it is now the second-highest-grossing Hindi movie, beating the lifetime numbers of Dangal (Rs 387.8 Crore). Baahubali 2 (Rs 511.30 Crore) remains at the top.
BIGGG NEWS… #KGF2 surpasses #Dangal *lifetime biz*… NOW, 2ND HIGHEST GROSSING *HINDI* FILM… Glorious march towards ₹ 400 cr begins… [Week 3] Fri 4.25 cr, Sat 7.25 cr, Sun 9.27 cr, Mon 3.75 cr, Tue 9.57 cr, Wed 8.75 cr. Total: ₹ 391.65 cr. #India biz. #Hindi pic.twitter.com/PdImtreDrB

The irony is that the top two Hindi grossers are not Bollywood movies. Both of them are dubbed south Indian movies. While Baahubali 2 is originally a Telugu movie, KGF 2 is a Kannada movie. This pretty much tells how South movies have started dominating the Hindi-speaking market. It’s high time for Bollywood to revive and come up with mass movies that are loved in core Hindi belts.
Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2 will soon enter Bollywood’s Rs 400 Crore club. However, it won’t be able to cross the lifetime collection of Baahubali 2.
