Kapoor & Sons 1st Day Collection - First Friday Box Office Report
Fawad and Alia in Kapoor & Sons

Kapoor & Sons 1st Day Collection: Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhorta, and Fawad Khan starrer family drama had a decent opening day with the collection of 6.85 crores.

As predicted by us, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan starrer Kapoor & Sons had a decent opening day at the Box Office. We are once again bang on target as Kapoor & Sons 1st day collection is 6.85 crores.

Released on around 1500 screens across the country, the movie starts off slowly with morning shows witnessed an average occupancy of around 20%. The movie gained momentum in the evening and late night shows after the positive reviews started to come in. The occupancy in the evening shows was as high as 60% in the metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, and Kolkata.

The WOM of the general public is exceptional but the biggest issue remains that the movie has a limited appeal. The movie is targeted for the multiplex audience which will prove as a major drawback in the coming days.

The movie performed poorly in most of the cities expect in metros like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Since, there are no chances of revival in the mass centers and small cities, the fate of the movie will depend on how it performs in metros over the next few days.

Kapoor & Sons 1st Day Collection: 6.85 crores (4th highest of 2016)

Kapoor & Sons is now the fourth highest opening day grosser of 2016 after Airlift, Ghayal Once Again and Kyaa Kool Hai Hum 3. The movie has beaten the opening day collection of biggies like Jai Gangaajal and Wazir.

The reviews have been exceptional from the critics and we are expecting Kapoor & Sons to show good growth on the coming days. On Saturday, the evening and late night shows will be affected by India-Pakistan match. The real test will start from Sunday and the weekdays will decide the Box Office fate.

Kapoor & Sons is made on a budget of around 38 crores. A good opening week would be enough to recover the budget and make it a profitable venture for the makers.
