Jai Gangaajal First Day Collection: Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Jai Gangaajal’ had a low opening day, collected around 5 crores.
As predicted by us, Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Jai Gangaajal’ is off to a slow start at the Box Office. The movie opened to an occupancy of around 15% in the morning shows and wasn’t able to pick up in the evening and late night shows. As per the trade estimates, Jai Gangaajal first day collection is around 5 crores.
This is a poor start for a movie released on 2600+ screens. Jai Gangaajal is the biggest release of 2016 in terms of no. of screens, even higher than ‘Airlift‘ which was released on 2200 screens.
As expected, the movie performed best in UP and central India. In other regions, the movie remained low and is expected to be on the same lines in coming days. The movie has received mixed reviews from critics but the WOM of the general audience is positive.
‘Jai Gangaajal’ is expected to witness good growth on Saturday and Sunday as there is no other choice for the moviegoers. The other release of the day, Zubaan had a terrible opening day. As per trade estimates, the movie collected around 10 lakhs on the first day. The first collection was even lower than last week disasters Aligarh (30 lakhs) and Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive (1 Crores)
