1.) Zhu’s name is pronounced as Jhu Jhu. Her first name or her surname Zhu means Red, whereas her second name or her name Zhu means Pearl, i.e. Red Pearl.

2.) Zhu Zhu was born in a military family in Beijing, China on July 19, 1984. Her grandfather was part of the People’s Liberation Army and fought quite a few wars.

3.)  She was a born musician as she started playing piano at the age of 3. She is a fine singer and has won a singing competition in Beijing and reached 3rd place at the national level.

4.) She has a degree in electronics and information engineering from the Beijing Technology and Business University.

5.) Post her graduation, she pursued designing before moving to acting. She played the lead role in the American TV series Marco Polo. She has also worked as a VJ in China’s domestic MTV channel.
