After the box office failure of Mohenjo Daro, Hrithik Roshan to play an IAF officer in Sidharth Anand’s Fighter.

Things are not going to well for Hrithik Roshan these days as his latest flick Mohenjo Daro totally bombed at the box office as opposed to expectations. Leaving the bitterness behind, Hrithik Roshan to play an IAF officer in Sidharth Anand’s Fighter.

According to a report of DNA, “It was during the making of Bang Bang that Siddharth had narrated the idea to Hrithik. Once the script was completely finished, he took it to the actor again. Hrithik liked the script. After that, Siddharth stepped out of Sanjay Dutt’s return vehicle ‘Badlaa’. And Hrithik got busy shooting for Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil. But after that film is completed, his dates are free as the actor has not committed to any other film. He even walked out of Thug.”

Fighter is said to be inspired from Tom Cruise’s classic hit Top Gun (1986). In the movie, Cruise played the role of a top pilot who loses one of his close friends and is given a second chance to redeem himself. While he struggles to be at his best, he also gets romantically involved with his female instructor. Sidharth’s script demands a lot of aerial stunts and hence has a huge budget. After the Mohenjo Daro debacle, producers are reluctant to invest such a huge amount on Hrithik and they haven’t found any producers to back them yet.

Will father Rakesh Roshan step up for his son? This will be the second time Sidharth and Hrithik will work together after Bang Bang. Guess we will have to wait for an official announcement now.
