Mohit Raina is best known for his portrayal of Lord Shiva in Devon Ke Dev-Mahadev. He came to Mumbai to pursue a career in modelling and lost 29 kgs so that he could participate in Grasim Mister India contest. He participated in the year 2005 and was placed among the top five contestants in that competition. He began his acting career with the show Antariksh and in the year 2008, he appeared in the not-so-successful movie Don Muthu Swami. After appearing in shows like Chehra, Bandini, Ganga Kii Dheej, he got the lead role in Devon Ke Dev and became a household name. He even learnt Kathak for the show. Currently, he is playing the role of emperor Ashoka in the historical serial Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.
